The answer is going to be different for every organization for a variety of reasons. Before you begin to consider platforms, you need to consider how your organization will be using your virtual platform. Here’s what to consider:
5 questions to ask before you make a platform choice:
What type of meeting or event will you most frequently be planning? A fundraiser, kick off event, sales meeting, new product introduction, awards ceremony, or something else?
How many people will be logging on to the system? Some platforms are better suited for smaller audiences; others are ideal for large groups.
Know your audience. Will your invitees be easily able to download the platform app prior to the event?
Know your team. How complicated is the platform connection (how many steps does it take to set up?)
Would two-way communication help you establish more engagement?
Analysis Paralysis
There are all kinds of different platforms, with many subtle differences between them. You can watch all the YouTube videos you want, but getting past that first research hurdle is head-spinning – not to mention time-consuming -- especially if you are new to the concept.
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by options and technology. Because this is new territory with so many options, having a best practices guide by setting up a free discovery session can be very helpful.
